Following the tremendous success of our first Family Flourish Day in May, we're excited to host a second in September!
Join us in the Roxby Community Garden as we celebrate the theme of 'Harvest' with a day filled with workshops, performances, food and music.
Featuring
-
Comissioned artist Carrieanne Vivianatte will be taking us on a journey through patterns and unpredictable nature of the four seasons in "The Changes of the Seasons,". This family-friendly, playful performance invites us to ponder our relationship with the planet and encourages us to treat the Earth with a little more kindness.
-
‘Silent birdsong’ is a collaborative intervention from commissioned artist Monika Dutta. Join Monika in decorating your own willow bird frames and consider what your bird might sing, or say, if they knew we could understand. Completed birds will be added to a collection of birds in the garden, forming an installation that grows throughout the day.
-
‘Hive’, from commissioned artist Nada Ibrahim, is an art installation that combines photography of beehives and sculptures. The interactive installation also gives participants the chance to make your own beehive planters and paint paper lanterns to take home.
-
Taiwanese performance artist Howl Yuan will be sharing ‘100 Times to Say Goodbye’ a site-responsive 1-on-1 performance focused on farewells and the ways we say goodbye. The piece invites you to share things or people you want to say goodbye to but haven't had the chance to.
-
Award-winning Potternewton Park rollers will be joining us to showcase their unique skate dancing skills and a lead fun rollerskating workshop for all ages and abilities.
-
Get creative with plants and flowers growing in your neighbourhood at Michaela’s plant based print workshop, celebrate the art of gardening with Maha Alomari’s gel and Lino printmaking activity, music from Sable, Lincoln Greeners harvest stall, treasure hunt, free food & more
